Henry
Avila and Bob Flentge established the Silver Lake Band Camp in 1970. Both
are Past Presidents of the California Band Directors Association. The
unique features of the camp include the following: its' beautiful location
in the High Sierras at Silver Lake; the great recreation activities; the
emphasis on sight reading a variety of concert and jazz music; the
outstanding teaching and support staff; its Drum Major Workshop; its great
college level counselors, crew and CITs (or counselors in training); the
great campsite provided at the City of Stockton's Municipal Family Camp;
the outstanding 24 hour services of a Registered Nurse; and, the fantastic
food services provided by our professional cooking staff.
